That's Crafty Acrylic Stacks for Hochanda Show

On Thursday That's Crafty launched their Acrylic Stacks on Hochanda so I thought I would share my samples with you. A big well done to the entire Design Team whose fabulous samples were such a joy to show off. They really pulled it out of the bag.  I really am in awe of them all. They are mixed media mavens in every sense of the word. Links to ALL their blogs can be found on That's Crafty's Blogs.

My heartfelt thanks to all those who took time to leave such kind and encouraging messages on social media. It carried us through the day. Honestly!

Big thanks also to all at Hochanda who supported me through the terrifying ordeal of appearing live on TV. Charlie and Hayley were amazing and I'm sure it was obvious they REALLY had their work cut out for them keeping me and my nerves under control.

John Lockwood, too, was fantastic! He was so kind and encouraging all day and gave me some really good advice to take forward. I met some great people and I can honestly say it was an experience I'll never forget. Steep learning curve. Terrifying to have to go through it so publicly but hey! That's how we grow, right!?

I've used a mixture of my stamps from my favourite companies, namely PaperArtsy, Tim Holtz and Carabelle. Stencils and substrates all by That's Crafty. I'll post more  pics through the week.

  2. I admired your courage and fortitude to try this - I know you will have been mega nervous mate but what a splendid job you made of both shows and your samples are brilliant. Can't wait to hear when your next show will be, as I'm pretty sure they will be wanting you back. Particularly loving the top two and, having seen the shows, you showed how others COULD achieve great results too - might just have to shop!

    Happy Saturday

You've no idea how much I am in awe of you! You handled it all like a Pro and you were so generous with your words for the DT as a whole. Brilliant and inspirational demos, which I've no doubt made crafters sit up and pay attention and lead them to working with acrylic substrates for the first time. I've still got a wee bit to watch, managed to record the section I was unable to watch live. I'm sure it's not the last we will see you on HOCHANDA.

  6. Lauren, I'll say it again, you were an absolute star on the day, so natural and you presented the items brilliantly. Your creations always leave me stunned as they are amongst the best I've seen, your attention to all the little details is second to none.
Here's to even more shows ;)

  7. Sadly, I did not get to watch your show. Not carried across the pond. :( I do love your samples! And from others comments it sounds like your nerves were not evident. Congrats on your first of maybe many tv appearances!

  8. These are all fantastic Lauren! And you were brilliant from what I briefly saw. Internet wasn't great in our holiday chalet, so I hope I can catch up when we get home at the end of May!

  10. Hi Lauren,

I was re-watching your debut on Hochanda, and I wanted to ask what size posca pen it was you were using when colouring the flowers on the acrylic ATC? I couldn't see from your demonstration whether it was the fine liners or the medium. I want to get a set but it was very difficult to tell from the TV as of course it always makes things look huge. The pen you were using looked a very versatile size, and so that's the ones I would like to try.

    1. Hi Lin

I used the medium sized tip on the show. It's the size I use the most. The nib is just fine enough to get into those smaller spaces.

      Best wishes

    2. Thanks for the prompt response Lauren. I have now been a very bad girl and ordered some! By the way, I forgot to say how amazing all the samples were, well done to you and the team. And knowing it was your first time on the TV you came across as very confident and I very much enjoyed your demos. Hope to see you back soon.

  11. Stunning samples, Lauren... I haven't seen the shows but by the look of the comments you rocked the live tv demos - which doesn't surprise me at all - bravo!
