HMFMC CHALLENGE 165 - LOST AND FOUND

I needed time to think about this one and went off to see what I could find to inspire me in my craft room. I found an empty marzipan box (hmmmm! wonder where all the marzipan went!?) with a magnetic clasp and knew straight away it would be perfect to put receipts in. I'm always losing receipts so I'm hoping that if I give them their own special home I'll always know where to find them...

Anyhoo - here's what I did with my marzipan box, some Theresa Collins papers and a cute little Gruffie who looks like he's having a few problems taming his paperwork too...

The light is awful today so I apologise for the "worse than usual" photography

I made some files to help me organise the receipts once their inside. I'll label them once I decide exactly how I want to organise things

and put a little pocket on the inside of the lid for things like business cards

Somewhat fittingly, I wanted to clip some little pegs onto the pocket just in case I wanted to keep certain things together but I CAN'T FIND THEM (grrr) so it will have to wait...

Ho hum

BIT NORTY

Because I'm not supposed to be spending any more on craft (!?) and I'm also meant to be finishing my entry for the current House Mouse challenge...

What can I say? I'm weak! I was powerless to resist......so I've kept the design SUPER SIMPLE and made a very quick card before I get back to what I'm supposed to be doing...

... NOT THE POST I'D INTENDED

... but there I was, having my breakfast and watching Create and Craft this morning when I spied THIS. I thought "I could do that" and off I scurried to my craft room to see if I really could. If you haven't come across them before the beauty of them is that they fold flat to fit into a normal sized envelope. I made mine from scratch but you can buy a kit from Craftwork Cards if you can't be bothered with measuring etc.

I've been wondering what to do for this month's challenge at Penny Black (which is Pearls and Lace by the way) and DESPERATE to play some more with these gorgeous stamps I got from Clearly Besotted, so I thought I'd marry the two...

I used a piece of plain white A4 card for the basic folding box base. Couldn't be easier... honest!

Now, it's not perfect and while I was doing it I was thinking "change this; move that" BUT I think it's okay for a first go. Once you see how something goes together it's easier to think about how you'd use it. I've got a feeling you'll be seeing these all over the place in the coming months. I know I plan to make more...

Meanwhile, we had an appointment at the V.E.T. today. Here they all are pretending they're fast asleep to avoid going...

All went well and it seemed only right that The Crew got new teds. I think it's lurve...

(don't worry about the dirty eye. The Beast had been digging in the compost heap when I took this photo... enough said I think... (just be grateful you can't SMELL her!! Chanel No 5 it ain't...!?)

BE MERRY - DP2 CHALLENGE #225 - PLENTY OF EMBELLIES

I don't know WHY I'm in the mood to make Christmas cards but I am so I'm going to just go with it. I love these little Mo Manning Fairies and couldn't resist the lovely Mimm. I EVEN broke out some of my very precious clear snowflakes that the lovely Kathy (very kindly) brings me back from the U.S. when she sees them. If it looks like I've thrown everything at this card; it's probably because I have. This is most definitely a MORE IS MORE creation!!

Once again, I used my fave colour combination and I found these gorgeous resin flowers when I was rummaging through my embellishment box.

I've only had them for about three years so you're lucky to see it ACTUALLY STUCK ON a card. I've given myself a talking to about using stuff. It's got to be done. I can't hold on to it all forever (okay, okay, I'm not THAT brave; I've got two more for stroking tucked away in my stash... baby steps bloggers... baby steps ;oD)

Have a great day.

I HOLD MY HANDS UP...

All this sunny weather has kept me out in the garden and I've hardly visited my crafty table at all in the last few days...

Here's a very simple Birthday Card. I may or may not add an image to it. I reckon it would work either way.

MOVING THE CHICKENS TO THEIR SPRING RESIDENCE

Having wintered at the bottom of the garden in the shade of the trees and honeysuckle, it's time to move the chickens under the lilac tree for Spring. I'm hoping they will clear the ground a bit and feed the tree while they're doing it iykwim

Here they are making the most of their freedom while we dismantled the run...

Ethel is missing from the group... I suspect she is in the undergrowth shredding some innocent young plant...

Uh oh that's another one gone AWOL. This is where I decided it was time to put down the camera and FIND THOSE PESKY CHICKENS!!!

Great to be out in the garden again and I hear tell the sunny weather is set to continue...woohoo!

MAKE A SPLASH

Another sunshiny day (yipee!) and a card using my latest stamps from Clearly Besotted. CAS remains a bit of a mystery to me, though I love and admire it, but I'm determined to get my head around it this year so here goes with another attempt. Once again, I couldn't resist some backing papers (though fairly understated) in my favourite aqua but I think the overall concept is fairly clean and simple...

Cute or what?

I've got a row of little CB veggies stamped out to play with today. Who knows what could happen!?

It's all in Black and White

Here's a butterfly card I made using one of my favourite sets of Basic Grey papers for a very clever pal of mine who passed her exams recently

The butterfly is decoupaged to give it dimension.

CHALLENGE #223 YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO w/MO

Another great challenge at Mo's and I didn't have to think twice about my favourite colour combo (OR my favourite image come to that). My favourite colour combo is AQUA, RED AND WHITE

This Humpty Dumpty image is one of my all time favourites and an absolute joy to colour. He's coloured with a mix of Copics and Prisma Pencils and is great for "thinking of you" cards. I LOVE HIM!!!

I think I've just about squeaked in for this week's challenge. Can't wait for the next one...

CRAFTY BINGO AT LOTV

This month's challenge at LOTV is a little different and we had to pick a line of embellishments from a bingo card of options for our cards.

I chose GEMS/LACE/PEARLS and one of my favourite Christmas images (I know; but I couldn't help myself...sorry)

I coloured the image with Copics and used stickles for the snow

I don't usually make this sized card but it seemed to fit the style I wanted slightly better than a square card.
